With a background as a football coach at Premier League Clubs including Crystal Palace and Brighton, his performance psychology extends to include Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Fulham FC, Southampton FC and West Ham United (under two separate managers), the season they achieved an extraordinary end of season run which included seven wins out of nine games, including wins at Arsenal and Manchester United, which helped achieve an unlikely and unexpected Premier League survival. His work in football has seen him work with a number of high-class performers including Argentinian superstar Caros Tevez, Sweden’s Freddie” Ljungberg and a host of England Internationals. He has worked with a number of International football managers including Arrigo Sacchi, Fabio Capello, as well as Steve Coppell, Alan Curbishley, Alan Pardew and Chris Hughton, amongst others.
Whilst working in elite sport and business as part of Roberto’s daily routine, it is working in football where he has the most extensive experience. Building effective teams is at the heart of any successful organisation or sporting success. Even individual sports require teamwork – take Roberto’s development of ‘Team Murray’ as a prime example.
As an ex-football player, coach and manager, Roberto understands the culture well. Over the past years he has worked with a number of top managers, many of whom take him from club to club whe they themselves changed. These includes Steve Coppell (3 clubs), Alan Pardew (3 clubs), Chris Hughton (2 clubs), Alan Curbishley, Chris Powell, Alan Smith and Wally Downes. He also acted as interpreter for both Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello
